Why I Built the Corrective Stretching App (And What It's Not Trying to Replace)

I'll be honest: I wasn't looking to build an app. For years, my answer to "what stretches should I do when I'm not in Miami?" was basically searching my YouTube channel for specific stretches for that specific client. While that was sufficient, it was nearly good enough, not to mention, my YouTube channel alone wasn't personalized enough for bigger audience. But that all changes Tuesday, October 6 when the MastroStretch Corrective Stretching app launches.
Why I Didn't Want to Build "Another Fitness App"
Most of you came to me because generic apps and generic stretch routines hadn't worked. You'd tried the 30-second-hold videos, the "10 stretches for tight hips" lists, and you still felt stiff by Wednesday. So the bar for me wasn't "build an app" — it was "build something that actually uses the same thinking I use with you on the floor and table, minus me physically being there." If it couldn't clear that bar, I wasn't interested in shipping it.

What the App Does — and Doesn't — Replace
Let's be clear about this part, because I'd rather you know than find out the hard way: the app doesn't replace an in-studio session, and it's not trying to. What happens on my floor and table — reading your specific compensation patterns in real time and adjusting as we go — still only happens in the studio. If you're dealing with something acute or complicated, that one-on-one read is still the right starting point, app or no app.
What the app replaces is the two or three videos I share. It takes the same resistance-based principle — you actively pushing back against a guided stretch, instead of passively holding one — and turns it into something you can run yourself, correctly, on the days you can't get to me: the travel weeks, the Tuesday you're swamped, the evenings when a few YouTube links from a text six months ago just isn't going to cut it anymore.

What You Get on Day One
A routine built around the patterns we already know show up in your body, not a generic list
Step-by-step video guidance, so you're doing the actual technique, not a vague approximation of it
A way to see your own progress over weeks, so "I think I'm looser" becomes something you can actually track
Now Live!
The Corrective Stretching app goes live Tuesday, October 6, and anyone who signs up between October 6 and October 16 gets 20% off. If you've ever wished you had something better than a few links or "10 Stretches List" for the days between sessions, this is it. Sign up at studio.com/amy-mastrogiuseppe.
